You proclaim with false innocence that you can find your way back fine because it's not that far away.

The Caretaker takes you at your word and waves cheerfully before scurrying away to get some more work done.

Once you can tell he isn't going to look back anymore, you feel a rush of excitement as you realize your plan worked! Feeling like a kid left alone in a candy store, you immediately start looking around for the most off-limits looking direction to go.
HAHA this is going to be fun! Twisted Evil

A little ahead and to your right, you see a tall stone wall that leads off into the distance. Is that a gate you see way down there? Well that should be a good way to go even if it's far away. Maybe The Caretaker won't see you if you stick close to the wall. He went off more to the left, toward the front gate.... yeah.... you decide to follow the long wall.

As you walk, you start regretting the decision. Yes, that is definitely a gate in the wall ahead, but your legs are getting very tired and the gate is only just becoming visible, even in this clean air on such a sunny day. That means you still have a very long way to go! Not only that, but apparently The Caretaker is also the Groundskeeper and hasn't had a chance to manicure the lawn in this part of the estate. Heck, you'd hardly even call it "lawn" anymore. This is a field!

While deep in thought about how tired your poor legs are, how hot the once pleasant sunshine is becoming, and worse yet how your belly is starting to grumble for food, you trip. Yeah that's right, you trip and do a big, gnarly faceplant right into a patch of sharp gravel. Both your palms are scratched up and you fear for a moment you may have even broken a tooth. One frantic second later, you confirm your teeth are all okay, but you definitely have a split lip. No wonder you tasted blood. This is a very bad situation indeed. You were exhausted before you got injured. Now how are you going to get out of here?!?
